Dr. Mohsen Mehdipour Ghazi Vice Dean for Research Faculty of Chemical, Petroleum, and Gas Engineering Phone: +98 23 31532472 Email: mohsenmehdipour@semnan.ac.ir Duties and Responsibilities of the Vice Dean for Research: - Developing the faculty’s research and technology agenda based on strategic documents and faculty missions in coordination with the dean, and submitting it to the Vice Presidency (each November). - Preparing, finalizing, and approving the faculty’s biannual research calendar, submitting it to the Vice Presidency (each September and February). - Implementing approved research regulations and guidelines. - Planning and setting policies and procedures for executing decisions made by the university’s Research Council and Publication Council. - Supervising the research activities of the departments and addressing any challenges they face. - Developing and presenting the faculty’s research policies to the dean. - Overseeing all research activities of faculty members and students within the faculty. - Conducting an annual evaluation of the research performance of the faculty members. - Coordinating with the directors of the affiliated units of the university’s research administration to ensure the implementation of research regulations and instructions. - Encouraging and supporting faculty members in writing, translating, and publishing academic books and articles to attract approved research funding. - Establishing connections with relevant industries and services to attract research projects, facilitating the groundwork for research contracts. - Overseeing the proper implementation of approved research contracts and projects within the faculty. - Supervising the organization of seminars and scientific gatherings. - Reviewing faculty applications for scholarships, research leaves, and short-term study opportunities, establishing criteria and priorities, and reporting to the dean. - Ensuring compliance with administrative, financial, and other support guidelines within the faculty. - Reviewing and estimating the faculty’s budget requirements in collaboration with relevant managers based on university budgeting guidelines. - Assessing and estimating all required resources for the faculty, including staffing and equipment needs. - Coordinating between educational and administrative activities of the faculty. - Monitoring and evaluating the performance of non-academic staff in the faculty. - Addressing and resolving issues faced by academic and administrative staff. - Supervising the drafting and issuance of internal directives and guidelines. - Ensuring the proper collection and allocation of faculty-specific revenues according to regulations. - Supervising the preparation of financial and asset performance reports at the end of each fiscal year. - Preparing and presenting the annual report on research and support activities to the dean. - Addressing student-related issues and overseeing the implementation of student programs in accordance with relevant regulations. - Enforcing central university regulations and student guidelines within the faculty. - Coordinating with student and cultural affairs directors to plan and execute extracurricular activities within the faculty. |
