Dr. Amir Heidari Vice Dean for Education and Graduate Studies Faculty of Chemical, Petroleum, and Gas Engineering Phone: +98 23 31532484 Email: amirheidari@semnan.ac.ir Duties and Responsibilities of the Vice Dean for Education and Graduate Studies: - Planning and optimally utilizing educational and research facilities, resources, and human capital to enhance the academic level of the faculty. - Supervising course delivery and reviewing departmental suggestions for course content according to approved curricula. - Reviewing and evaluating course materials to ensure alignment with approved curricula and program requirements. - Preparing and organizing the necessary academic programs and course schedules within regulatory frameworks for each academic discipline. - Assessing the need for faculty hiring and evaluating the qualifications of candidates. - Reviewing and recommending modifications to curricula, course requirements, and content based on recent scientific advancements for approval by relevant authorities. - Corresponding with authorities to obtain authorization for establishing new academic programs, departments, or specializations. - Collaborating with relevant units to organize training workshops for staff involved in educational functions within the faculty. - Overseeing the process of curriculum review. - Preparing and submitting reports related to educational matters of the faculty to relevant authorities. - Addressing academic issues in consultation with responsible officials. - Preparing, maintaining, and updating catalogs of approved academic programs and regulations for student reference. - Ensuring the proper implementation of educational policies, guidelines, and resolutions within relevant units, and overseeing the administration of educational services. - Addressing undergraduate student issues and identifying gaps in current policies, proposing solutions to the university’s Office of Educational and Graduate Studies. - Supervising the implementation of policies regarding student transfers and guest enrollments. - Utilizing data for planning, monitoring, and evaluating the admission and performance of undergraduate and graduate students. - Handling student registration and examination processes at all academic levels in alignment with established policies. - Implementing instructions for the enrollment of admitted students each semester. - Managing processes for newly admitted students. - Responding to student inquiries regarding academic affairs. - Issuing certifications, letters of introduction, and other official correspondence. - Communicating examination schedules as determined and supervising end-of-term examinations. - Receiving grade lists and attendance records, forwarding them to the IT unit, and preparing academic transcripts. - Managing credit transfers and advising students on course selection. - Monitoring the academic progress of graduates to ensure compliance with course division requirements and enforcing relevant academic regulations. - Issuing temporary graduation certificates. - Compiling and reporting graduate statistics each semester to relevant authorities. - Safeguarding academic records of alumni. - Carrying out additional tasks as assigned by superiors. |
